Married to Bishop James Haskell Mayo (Retired), the 100th elected and consecrated Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Mayo served as Episcopal Supervisor of the 16th District, assisting her husband in furnishing medical equipment for the Medical Clinic in Port au Prince, Haiti. They served the Tenth Episcopal District (Texas) where she organized District Leadership Skillshops bringing together Missionaries, Local Areas, Conference and District Officers which was a first for Texas.

In the Fourth Episcopal District she renovated all buildings at Camp Baber. Furthermore, she initiated the District Leadership Skillshops at each Annual Conference.

Programmatically she implemented a Black and White Celebration honoring President and Life Members. Also, under her leadership, The Galaxy of Stars Celebration honoring Young People became a feature.

Educationally, Mrs. Mayo earned the Bachelor of Arts Degree and the Masters of Education at Chicago State University. She is recognized as a world traveler and a homemaker.
