6th Episcopal District - State of Georgia

Christy Davis Jackson, Esq, is a lawyer, speaker, nationally recognized thought leader in reimagining urban cities and the Supervisor of the 6th Episcopal District (State of Georgia) for the African Methodist Episcopal Church and its 543 churches in the state of Georgia.  Ms. Davis Jackson is married to Bishop Reginald T. Jackson, Presiding Prelate of the 6th Episcopal District.  Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Davis Jackson is a graduate of Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, attended the London School of Economics and Richmond College in London and graduated from Rutgers University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey.  In her early career, Ms. Davis Jackson worked as the legal counsel for state Senator Wynona M. Lipman, who was the first African American woman elected to the state Senate in New Jersey and this sparked an interest in the nexus of public policy, government and the results  civic engagement has in the lives of everyday citizens. She subsequently worked in executive positions for a variety of firms and institutions before joining the partnership team of City Strategy Group, a first in class company reimagining cities across the country. Ms. Davis Jackson has been honored by a multitude of organizations for her leadership, including the Urban League, A. Philip Randolph Institute, Junior Achievement of America, the NAACP and her alma mater Rutgers University. She has served on the Boards of the Women’s Fund, the Urban League, Junior Achievement and Leadership Newark and  was named one of NJ’s 50 Most Interesting New Jerseyans by NJ Monthly Magazine. In an interview with Black Enterprise magazine, she said “what are we here to do on earth if not to help others?” when interviewed concerning her leadership in helping a small business owner stay in business after fighting the bureaucracy of a local municipality. Ms. Jackson serves as the leader of the Women’s Missionary Society in the state of Georgia and is excited with the work yet to plan and to do. Ms. Jackson has two children, Regina Victoria, who is a classically trained musician and who lives in Charlotte, North Carolina and Seth Joshua, a 7th grader, sports enthusiast and, like Regina a crazed Dallas Cowboys fan, which drives Ms. Jackson crazy.  She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and loves the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.
