Ainsley M. Byfield was born in Kingston, Jamaica, the sixth child to Lambert and Loretta Byfield. He attended St. George’s College, and St. Michael’s Seminary. After moving to Indianapolis, Indiana he graduated from Marian College, Indianapolis, IN.
Ainsley is employed as a Special Process Inspector for Rolls Royce Corporation, Indianapolis, IN. He previously worked for General Motors Corporation before his unit was sold for Rolls Royce. He is an avid tennis player, reader and likes to play domino, cards and works around the house.
He has served as President of Capital City Tennis Club, President of the Indiana President CONN-M-SWAWO+PK’s, Worship Leader for the. Michigan CONN M-SWAWO+PK’s. He has supported his wife at the following churches: Bethel AME Church, Bloomington, Indiana; Robinson Community AME Church, Indianapolis Indiana, St. Paul AME Church, Detroit, Michigan, and Executive Assistant with his wife as Presiding Elder of the South District Indiana Conference and the North District, Indiana, Conference. His local church ministry has included the establishment of Men’s and Boy’s Ministry and at the Presiding Elder Level-Sports Ministry, particularly tennis and soccer.
He has a quiet spirit of generosity and is known to help persons in crisis without any personal recognition.
He has been married to E. Anne Henning Byfield for 43 years this Christmas Eve. They have one son and daughter in law, Michael and Adrienne, and four grandchildren, Miles, Liana, Kendra and Jeremiah.
He is excited about the work of missions in the Sixteenth Episcopal District and has coordinated missions in various parts of the districts.
